Interstellar Object May Have Been Sent By Aliens

An oddly shaped object, first detected by earth astronomers in October 2017, may be displaying properties which suggest it was sent from outside our solar system with intent. Named ʻOumuamua’, it is the first interstellar object detected passing through our Solar System. Formally designated 1I/2017 U1, it was discovered by Robert Weryk using the Pan-STARRS telescope at Haleakala Observatory, Hawaii, on 19 October 2017, 40 days after it passed its closest point to the Sun.

A year’s worth of observation and studying the object has revealed multiple irregularities to what would be expected from such a object if naturally wandering into our solar system, leading Professor Abraham Loeb of the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and member of Breakthrough Starshot, a project announced by the late astrophysicist Stephen Hawking and funded by Russian billionaire Yuri Milner, to release a paper suggesting that Oumuamua was sent here by aliens.

“…the possibility that it might be a lightsail of artificial origin… Professor Abraham Loeb”

Oumuamua’s composition and changes in speed have led Loeb to believe the object may be using a space propulsion concept earth scientists have begun working on, using a ‘sail’ to propel an object thru space.
