Massive Fireball Over UK – 3/3/2012
We had declared 2009 ‘Year of the Fireball‘, but events like the massive fireball that was seen over the Northern UK on March 3rd, 2012 could be the sign of things to come in 2012.
At around 9:45 PM local time, reports starting pouring in from Knutsford, Glasgow, Greater Manchester, and across Scotland of a fireball crossing the night sky.
The Kielder Observatory reported the sighting of a “huge fireball” travelling from north to south over Northumberland at 9.41pm.
The Observatory posted to Twitter: “Of 30 years observing the sky #fireball best thing I have ever seen period.”
