The British The National Archives have posted online more than 4,000 pages documenting 800 alleged UFO encounters during the 1980s and 1990s.

Again, as in May and October of 2008 and in March of 2009, more files have been released to the public concerning observed and investigated UFO activity by the British Government and Military.

Only several weeks ago, the The Russian Navy declassified a collection of records of encounters with UFOs dating back to the Soviet era.

Included in the UK files is a 1995 alien encounter by two men in Staffordshire who reported seeing an alien with a large lemon-shaped head who told them, “We want you; come with us.”

From the Archive, here are a collection of posted ‘highlights’

  • More than 30 sightings of bright lights over central England in just six hours in March 1993. Most of the sightings were later attributed to a Russian rocket re-entering the earth’s atmosphere
  • The Belgian Air Force scrambling F-16 fighters to intercept UFOs reported by police officers and others
  • Numerous sightings over Scotland as Bonnybridge became the UFO hotspot of the mid-1990s
  • A report of wailing noises and mysterious lights being beamed onto a cemetery in Cheshire in July 1996. Investigations discovered four smouldering railway sleepers, one with a hole burnt through it.

The files are available to download for free for one month from, where you can also find a wealth of information on the files, and a videocast by UFO expert Dr David Clarke.
