Is The $1,000,000 Hunt for Bigfoot For Real?

A cool million for a photo of bigfoot?

A recent comment from BigfootTracker challenges the validity of the July 10-14, 2010 Bigfoot hunt near Silverton, Colorado. The comment states “http://www.hunt4bigfoot.com registered to China Connect in Kanab Utah. Site is bogus. Save your money.”

WhalesInSpace.com has gotten quite a few hits on our original post after, it was listed on Knapps News on CoastToCoastAM.

Let us do some internet sleuthing and see what we can find out.

Our pals over at Bigfoot Lunch Club sent us the public information available on the domain www.hunt4bigfoot.com.

And we can add the address given in the content rules “Bigfoot Central, P.O. Box 385, Silverton, CO 81433”

China Connect? So this might raise some red flags to some, that business name is actually listed above the posted sponsors on their site and the name Gayle Lewis has some background with Bigfoot. A May 8th 2009 post on weirld.com states Gayle and her husband Rick opened a Bigfoot Museum on Blair Street in Silverton. In fact using the name Bigfoot Central, the same from the contest. The museum’s mission is to improve understanding of Bigfoot, and to bring attention to what they claim is an often overlooked part of Silverton’s real history. The story was covered in the www.telluridenews.com, but has been moved to their subscription only area.

And what about the address given for Bigfoot Central, P.O. Box 385, Silverton, CO 81433. Interestingly, at the address is KSJC-LP, a Freeform formatted broadcast radio station licensed to and serving Silverton, Colorado. KSJC-LP is owned and operated by Silverton Community Radio.

I emailed KSJC-LP and hopefully will get a response concerning their connection to Bigfoot Central and got an automated response:

I also emailed the Kendall Mountain Resort Complex, where the ‘after hunt’ party is to be held and the whole affair will be based around. No response yet. I will post it when I get one.

So is the $1,000,000 Hunt for Bigfoot for real? I don’t see anything in all the info above that would lead me to think otherwise.

If Rick or Gayle Lewis are out there, maybe they could drop us an email and clear this up real quick.

  1. Went to bigfootforums.com to see if there was any inside info from the community. They pointed me to Whalesinspace.com. Go figure. Looks like your the lead on this one Whales.

  2. $1,000,000.00 Hunt for Bigfoot

The primary purpose of our Hunt for Bigfoot event is simply to gather together four hundred or more other Bigfoot enthusiasts, for a few days to enjoy the Great Outdoors of the San Juan region of Colorado, promote our business-Bigfoot Central and Legend of Bigfoot Museum, show off the town of Silverton in which we are located, and let everyone enjoy an evening together, Bigfoot’n at our planned $1,000,000.00 Hunt for Bigfoot closing party.

Over 17,000 people visited our Legend of Bigfoot Museum this past season and we have had many a request for such an event. With (7) recorded sightings nearby this year and a long history of encounters in this region, Bigfoot excitement is in the air and the response to our planned event has been very good. For those one or two skeptics-and there always seem to be some in a crowd-we encourage them to stay home. The $1,000,000.00 Hunt for Bigfoot event is for imaginative and fun enjoying people only.

PS Our PO Box is 385 Silverton, CO 81433 and if not as reported by BIGFOOTRACKER maybe we could stop paying the utility bills that arrive there.

  3. Show some courage
Instead of hiding in the shadows like the creature we all love, maybe BIGFOOTRACKER could come out of hiding and post his/her name and contact info as we have done-so our attorney could send them a letter.
