On the morning of Thursday, October 21st, over dozen goats, cats and different types of birds were found between the two blocks of 16th Terrace and 15th Terrace on 34th Avenue in Miami Florida, in various states of decay, all with their heads removed.
Miami Police believe the dead animals may have been part of the religious ritual Santeria, which usually does not involve cats. It is also reported that there was also a “very large” animal that no one could identify.
Santería is a system of beliefs that merge the Yoruba religion (brought to the New World by slaves imported to the Caribbean to work the sugar plantations) with Roman Catholic and Native Indian traditions. These slaves carried with them various religious traditions, including a trance for communicating with their ancestors and deities, animal sacrifice and sacred drumming.
British livestock mutilation investigator Phil Hoyle from Shrewsbury, is convinced extraterrestrials are behind recent sheep mutilations and claims he witnessed two UFOs using some sort of light to zap sheep.
Cattle mutilations in this area are nothing new.
Sanchez and other local ranchers Tom Miller and Mike Duran, who found a sliced Red Angus cow near Weston in March, have all experienced similar mutilations before. Sanchez lost cows in 2006 and 1993, Miller in 1997 and 1980, and Duran in 2000 and 1995.
“It’s weird and unexplainable,” says Duran, who lost a healthy 27-year-old Red Angus cow on March 8, her udder and rear end removed with what he describes as “laser cuts, like when somebody cuts metal with a torch.”
Sanchez, described as a “salt-of-the-earth-type fellow”, who put three kids through college ranching, says he and his wife witnessed incandescent blue lights hovering over a ridge near his pastures last July and August. He declined to speculate about the lights.
The AP article on www.breitbart.com uses words like ‘bizarre’ and ‘creepy’ as it describes the mysterious string of calf mutilations from southern Colorado, near the New Mexico border.
Four calves have been found dead by rancher Manuel Sanchez. Their skins peeled back and organs cleared from the rib cage. One calf had its tongue removed. Sanchez has found no signs of human attackers, such as footprints or ATV tracks. And there are no signs of an animal attack by a coyote or mountain lion. Usually predators leave pools of blood or drag marks from carrying away the livestock.
A spokesman for the Costilla County Sheriff’s Office told local paper, The Pueblo Chieftain, that investigators doubt a person butchered the calves because there is no blood at the scene.
UFO chaser, Chuck Zukowski of ufonut.com from Colorado Springs, has been to the scene to investigate. Zukowski told The Pueblo Chieftain there have been other unexplained calf mutilations in the area, including three in March. One of the other calves, found dead on a ranch near Trinidad, had its ears removed.
